Raleigh Grifter Mk2 in Red arrived today!

Here is my Mk2 stars which arrived today ! its all complete other than the seat reflector and bracket! it still has it schrader caps and the original super grips still hold air ;D But had a bit of a problem with the seat which can be seen in the pictures! it was totally stuck and took alot of strengh to get out ! i'd never came across a problem like this before but got it out and the chrome is excellent luckily but the the tube is not so good! but got it sorted in the end but have to have the seat clamp bolt and r nut the opposite way round which i suppose isnt much of a problem! havent had chance to clean it much yet but looks to be a clean bike underneath ;D ;D

nice one has,bet your made up with it,even though it sounds like its going to need a bit of work doing on it,you will get there haz.i know you will.get the autosol out mate and scrub for your life lol.any pics to go with this thread haz???

Nice one haz , be great if you can get the wheel chrome to come up a bit with autosol ,

Cheers guys! i think it will clean up well! ;D will defonitely keep you all updated! my plans are just to strip it all down, new decals, try and find one Mk2 grip! and a good clean also the bar foam has a few splits and im not very good with glue etc! so if any one can help? ill cover the costs! please ;D

Yeah mate, it's an nightmare! the frame seat tube was very out of shape and took quite a bit to get back to the correct shape

yeah dylan thanks, they look great going to get a set of them ;D and had a grip arrive for it today and had a quick go at the wheel and its coming up fantastic ;D ;D ;D

well finally got round to stripping this down and the bars are stuck, mainly cause of the fact the headnut is completely stuck and wont move at all ive never ever came across this problem before but sprayed it with loads of wd40 and will try again tomorrow...

Managed to strip this down so I can start cleaning the chrome and paint and changing the decals

Looking good Haz. Should come up well with new decals. It's been a long term project but will be worth it in the end.
