Building the Mk1 & using "Tin A Bling"

I have decided which bike to build for the Blackpool ride out ;D, and its my Metallic Red September 78. and I will keep adding pictures all along the way of its build until complete I have just under two weeks to complete this build , yes that may be a long time but for me, Ive only an hour or so a day so wish me luck chaps ,
as it came out of me store shed oily and dirty and completely bare


a quick once over with a wd on a cloth and a toothbrush and wd in the nooks and cranny's, ( a need to invest in some more gt85, wd is just pants compared ) then a polish with good old fashion turtlewax polish


a quick polish of bling ;D and some good old 70s shipyard grease the forks and frame become one ;D ;D and yes for the sharp eyed viewers the forks are slightly bent backwards (to be sorted later ;D) and look where the seat clamp goes, wow how the colour has faded

very very nice andy.like you said you have just 2 weeks to get this sorted and im sure you will do it,as for the build you are doing a fine job mate,the forks don,t matter,and compared to when you first got this out,and to now with a bit of a clean it looks totally different,well done mate.and like you said mate,keep us posted with pics as the build comes along....also first dabs on it,if and when you ever decide to let this go,after the rideout.lol hahaha i have to try somehow...to get 1,and as your best mate.cheapish please will do,,,whats that i heard you say,tony is a good lad and ill think ill just give it to him???hahah o no andy i possibly could,nt mate.but thank you....looking forward to seeing this finished.

ok then tony your word is final I wont give it to you for free , and you cant go back on your word, what will people think of you, lol, I sold my precious june 76 to a member so everything is for sale, it just sometimes has to be the right price at the right time ;D ;D

I'm not quite going to be building it Mk1 as there is a few other parts a prefer of other models, mainly super chainwheel set, ;D ;D

8-)there is my mate there with me old baby ;D ;D ;D. am so glad ya kept it steve, a dont think anyone else would have got it, but we done so so many deals it only seemed right and if it is ever going anywhere a hope first offer will come back this way at least I know she in good hands ;D ;D ;D

a few more parts fitted, and its starting to look like a bike everything on this bike has had to be cleaned etc etc nothing is of the shelf, otherwise a would be finished in a couple of hours. right a must go av got things to polish ;D ;D

looking good andy,and yes nothing of the shelf,has to be all cleaned and like new stuff,your doing a fine job mate,and i can see this looking like the dogs danglies when all done.keep going mate and you might get a couple of days rest before the rideout,if it is all finished early..top work andy.

ive put on hold the things that i can to get a bit extra time to get this bike built, a should be able to do it even if it means putting uncleaned items on,
plus ive also got the most important job to do for the blackpool trip, in all my exitement there is one thing I have overlooked that must be done, more important than the Mk1 re-build can anyone guess???
