Posted 14/03/2007 11:48:52 PM by Supergrip I'm going to start the Grifter GS restoration at the weekend. I've posted a few images of it below as it looks today. I don't know If I'm going to respray the frame fully or touch It up as the decals may be hard to reproduce. Any suggestions on how I may be able to reproduce a set would be great. Hopefully it will be ready for the brooklands meet. Here are some of the nos parts i've sourced for the resto I've removed the down tube decal quite easily using a hair dryer, see image below, and this is know been stuck down flat on card so it can be scanned. The top tube has proven quite tricky. It seems to be printed on a thin plastic type material and when you try to peel it off the decal inks start to crack and flake off. I intend to carefully trace the decal on to slightly tacky tracing paper then scan it and get to work on it with photoshop to produce a copy. Only when I'm satisfied with the result will I try to remove the decal. My thought is to apply some sought of clear laminate to try and bond the deacal together. Any thoughts and ideas on the matter would be appreciated
