I have some problems rebuilting the rear wheel... Although i found spokes with the exact size, only threats are 2-3 mm shorter, and although i copied the correct way from my photos, and other pictures here, last 3 spokes cannot reach the nipples, and i have some nipples way up, and some way down.. I first put all spokes of chain side, and then all in other side... I follow the 3 holes between, and 9 holes between pattern.. I followed this, but not very sure about the opposite side, how the spokes should start.. raleighgrifter.proboards.com/thread/4160/grifter-spokes-sizesAdditionally, i received my new tyres, tubes, pedals, chain and cables... I have some trouble finding spokes for the front wheel, in local market..

I tried many times..i start to think that maybe that small difference in threat length is important afterall.. I will try once more with all nipples loosen up as much as it goes...

I am in a good way... I only have to lace the wheels (waiting for spokes) and clean/polish the main frame... I have smaller things ready, cleaned and polished, also have all new accesories that i will need... By the way, my supergrip tyres have a label of Ralleigh "manufactured for ralleige UK", but don't have any "supergrip" written on them, they say "made in china" Is this original new item?? Or cheap copies??

They sound like the modern ones, Do they have the supergrip hex pattern? nos supergrips are around £40 a set on ebay where as the chinese modern ones are under £20 a set. Your only ever likely to buy one set of tyres for your bike so for the sake of £20 you may as well buy the proper ones.

Pattern looks correct.. i gave 40 euros with shipping.. and picture was not so good. I went according description, "Raleigh Grifter supergrips".. I dont mind if is the reproduction, since i try to keep cost low, and not aiming for very high standards.. But i do mind, if they are cheap chineese ones, baptized as "Raleigh supergips"..

Yeah. Not the true super grips. But they'll do the job. 65 euros would be bout the price of a proper pair (£49.99 inc inner tubes £39.99 for tyres) plus pp

Those tyres are only 8.99 each!! They were ok when you couldn't get the proper supergrips but there easy to get now so personally I would get the Original hex ones.

Loving this resto. You're doing it the same way I did mine and buying the same parts as I did! Looking good

The cleaning and polishing is finished, and i started rebuilding... Only problem..i still don't have new spokes in the correct size, to lace the wheels. Also, didn't manage to find a seller who can send the decals in Cyprus.... How do you guys remove the old decal remainings, without scratch the frame??
