How did you get on with the filling the seat with tigerseal..I had some gapping holes in mine but managed to fill it, only problem is it looks to smooth, somehow I need to achieve that cracked effect..any ideas? Pics would be great of the seat mate.

Hi.. Actually, i used black silicone, but it was not a good option, so i removed. I cannot find tiger seal in local market. I searched with the other brand names also. I found, some grey material they use in body parts, that gets hard, but still keep a small degree of flexibility. I just apllied 2 times, but didnt do anything more yet.. I will try to smooth the surface, and paint.. will post a picture

This is how it looked before painting, with that bond sealer. I just sanded with sandpaper and painted. It came up not bad, but it could be better.. And here is after the installation of the rear mudguard... Still waiting to get my spokes (this week) to complete the wheels, and finish with gear cable, front mudguard and chain fitting..

I've enjoyed reading this restoration. This is what this forum is all about. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Almost finished... only front wheel left. Had little trouble to find new spokes in correct size. I think i will sort it out with used ones these days.. Also rear brake ferrule needed, and i think chain is little tight, and wondering if i must add an extra link... Some pics...

Youve done a nice job so far but I feel you need to find the correct little parts. Don't rush to finish the bike, take your time and get it right. Your only restoring this bike once mate.

From begining, i didnt had in mind to go for a full, and perfect restoration. Just wanted a clean up, in low badget. Nothing is stopping me, from find one by one those little parts it needs to get better all the time. The difficult work has been done.. Now is open to improvments... At least it was saved. In the storage, time was against it..

Don't take it personally, it was just an observation mate. It's your bike so upto you how you rebuild it. You have posted your bike up and people will give their views. I personally wouldn't of built the bike up until I had the correct parts. This is only my opinion.

Its not April fool's I last night finished the bike, after recieved my front rim... It came up according to my expectations, and with low budget... When some parts appear cheap in the future..i can improve some things..

A cracking rider.. well done. And as it was yours as a kid too... I think leaving some parts as is (chain protector) leaves a story to tell.
